"Ey Iran" is the anthem we grew up hearing in our
homes. It is close to our hearts, especially since it
is not about any one person or ideology, but about the
people and the land of Iran.

When many Iranian pilots, who were in prison during
the initial stages of the Iran-Iraq War as a result of military purges, were asked to fly dangerous flight missions upon their release, many agreed to only if this anthem was broadcasted nationally. Their wish was fulfilled and they subsequently hurried to the defense of their country.

Many Iranian/Iranian-Americans relate to this anthem
and could be better versed in it as well, especially
since it is making a comeback in Iran. Hopefully you
