
On November 14th, 2004, ISAA organized a concert where an extremely colorful
sound universe originating from
refined world music where Classical Persian
composition meeting jazz, blues, and the world music with an innovative
avant
-garde soundscapes. An exotic music with eastern feel and an unusual time
signature. The musicians featured
Alan Kushan - Santur (Persian dulcimer),
Mark Deutsh - Bazantar (modified sitar like bass), Jaron
Lanier - world
instruments, Michael Lewis- Tabla (indian drums), Shirzad Sharif - Tonbak
(Persian drums), Michael
Zerang - Percussion, Kousic Sen - Tabla (Indian
Drums), Robert Simms - Keyboard and percussion, Nahid
Ziaee - Persian Vocals.
ISAA tabled selling shirts, sweaters, cds, and passed out a couple hundred of
new and old
copies of our student publication: "Goftogoo: Dialogue on Iran and
Iranians."
